I can't believe that it has been six weeks since my last post. Our new life is great and Jake continues to bring smiles to our faces each and every day but now that I'm working full time again I just can't seem to find time to do my updates. Hopefully... I'll continue to settle into our new routine and get back to a more regular schedule for posting but until then... here's a big one to try and catch up.
Believe it or not we've had over five feet of snow in the two months since we moved. It has really been beautiful and so much fun but we've been enjoying our break from the winter weather this week. I feel sure that we'll see some more white stuff before spring really arrives so we haven't put away the winter clothes or the sled just yet. We took Jake to the park near our house last Sunday and he had a blast. He LOVES to play outside and would literally stay out all the time if we would let him. It's so hard to believe that he is already two years old. We had a fun little family birthday party for him here at our house and he also had a party with his new friends at Miss Felecia's house. He has been singing happy birthday to himself for the past month and it has just been precious to listen to him. Trip and I got Jake a Learning Tower for his birthday and it was worth every penny. It allows him to get up where the action is and he loves that thing!
Contrary to the photos below... Jake still loves lots of veggies. Miss Felecia even uses him as an example at daycare to get the other kids to eat more fruits and veggies. Speaking of Miss Felecia's house... Jake has some really sweet little friends there and he looks forward to seeing them each day. There is one little girl named Lillie who is 3 years old. Jake says ... "Lillie is pretty" and apparently Lillie likes Jake too. Trip dropped Jake off one day and Lillie walked up to him ... held his face in her hands and gave him a kiss. Trip said it was just the most precious thing and he really wished that he had been able to capture it on film.
Jake is still reading up a storm and he is just so inquisitive. He's constantly saying... "that says?"... "that is?". You can actually have a real conversation with him which is fun.
