Better late than never.....

I can't believe that it has been six weeks since my last post. Our new life is great and Jake continues to bring smiles to our faces each and every day but now that I'm working full time again I just can't seem to find time to do my updates. Hopefully... I'll continue to settle into our new routine and get back to a more regular schedule for posting but until then... here's a big one to try and catch up.

Believe it or not we've had over five feet of snow in the two months since we moved. It has really been beautiful and so much fun but we've been enjoying our break from the winter weather this week. I feel sure that we'll see some more white stuff before spring really arrives so we haven't put away the winter clothes or the sled just yet. We took Jake to the park near our house last Sunday and he had a blast. He LOVES to play outside and would literally stay out all the time if we would let him. It's so hard to believe that he is already two years old. We had a fun little family birthday party for him here at our house and he also had a party with his new friends at Miss Felecia's house. He has been singing happy birthday to himself for the past month and it has just been precious to listen to him. Trip and I got Jake a Learning Tower for his birthday and it was worth every penny. It allows him to get up where the action is and he loves that thing!

Contrary to the photos below... Jake still loves lots of veggies. Miss Felecia even uses him as an example at daycare to get the other kids to eat more fruits and veggies. Speaking of Miss Felecia's house... Jake has some really sweet little friends there and he looks forward to seeing them each day. There is one little girl named Lillie who is 3 years old. Jake says ... "Lillie is pretty" and apparently Lillie likes Jake too. Trip dropped Jake off one day and Lillie walked up to him ... held his face in her hands and gave him a kiss. Trip said it was just the most precious thing and he really wished that he had been able to capture it on film.

Jake is still reading up a storm and he is just so inquisitive. He's constantly saying... "that says?"... "that is?". You can actually have a real conversation with him which is fun.

The Next Chapter Begins...

We've officially started the next chapter in our story.  Our move is complete, my new job has begun and our sweet little man is in childcare full time for the first time in his life.  We love our temporary house and have settled in nicely.  My first new job in 15 years is off to a great start and Jake is happy to have new little friends to play with while Mama & Daddy are at work.  He has been a real trooper during this whole experience.  The only "bad" day he had during the whole process was moving day and when the mover's arrived to start loading the truck he laid down in his room and cried and cried while saying "Jake's room" over and over.  Thankfully my wonderful sister-in-law came to his rescue and we could not have been more grateful.  He spent the rest of the day playing with his cousins at their house so he wouldn't have to watch the house get emptied out and they delivered him to our new house after the mover's had almost everything unloaded.  The first few days when he woke up he would look around and say... "hotel" but each time we would explain that this is our new house and he now understands and seems to have adjusted perfectly.

It is so hard to believe that our little baby is almost 2 years old!!  We're going to celebrate with a small family party this year and we'll post some pictures so come back in a couple of weeks and check them out.

Okay Mama... I'm all packed up and ready to move.
Now that was some yummy chocolate pudding!
Happy 23-Month Birthday to Me!
Wow... this moving stuff is messy!
This new shower is AWESOME!!!
This was a really big day for me and Mama!
Helping Daddy get my new sled ready for its first run.
Daddy and I are getting ready to have some fun.
We started out slow since it was my first time.
I love this!  Let's go to the big hill!
Our new house...
Look at my nose... I look like Rudolph!!!
Go faster Daddy!
Now that I have snow boots ... I can walk and walk in this stuff..
And walk... and walk... and walk...
I like Mama's new hat!
Daddy looks like he's thinking that this
might not be a good idea after all...
Mama wiped out but I ran down to help her up.

A very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

We had a wonderful Christmas with Jake and we're looking forward to a very Happy New Year!!!  He was a real little trooper over the holidays.  Between Christmas Eve and New Year's Day we traveled almost 1,500 miles across 4 states to 4 family gatherings, 1 birthday party, 1 cabin and 2 hotels.  We took lots of videos and toys for the car and stopped to get ya ya's out as often as necessary.  It was wonderful to see our family but Jake was exhausted from all the traveling.  Next year we're looking forward to spending the holidays at our house and hoping that family will come to see us.

Jake gave us quite a scare while we were in Maryland.  He woke up vomiting and we couldn't get him to stay awake so we called our Pediatrician who said to take him to the closest ER or Urgent Care.  Trip and I were really scared but thankfully Jake is okay.  Doc said it must have been a virus and after we were finally able to get some liquids into him he started to wake up more and more.  After a good night of sleep (14 hours) he was back to his old self and we were so grateful to see that big smile when he woke up the next morning.

We're now in panic mode trying to get ready for our big move which is coming in less than two weeks.  Wish us luck!

There are several (7) new posts below so please scroll down, take a peek and enjoy :)

Shot this video of Jake just this morning. He actually says all the letters but you have to listen hard because he mashes some of them together which is what makes it so precious.

Christmas in the Smokies...

Our family sure does eat a lot!!

More presents!!!  I got another truck, a rug
with a road on it and some more books... yippppeeee!

Here's a cute shot of my Mamaw & Papaw

I'm so glad that Carson let me play with his "BIG" truck.

Mama & Daddy said that if you look really hard up
on the ridge top that you can see the wedding chapel
where they were married.

Playing with Papaw always makes me smile!

Do you think Carson would want to trade because
I REALLY love this truck?

Are they cooking again?
