Grandma knitted Jake a cap last winter and Daddy got one too. Jake's cap finally fits him so now all we need is snow.

Just a quick post tonight. I promised Jake's Grandma that I would upload some video of him eating in his high chair a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately, the video was way to large to upload and I still haven't mastered our editing software nor have I purchased any that might be easier to use. So when we tried peas again tonight we thought we would make a quick video to post. Last week peas were met with really funny faces and some serious gagging before he clamped his mouth shut and refused them all together. Tonight Jake ate them like a big boy. We are so proud! His new favorite food is applesauce so he got some of that for dessert since he did so well with his peas.
We'll post on the 14th or soon thereafter as we'll have Jake's 7 month b-day picture to show off.

We can hardly believe that half of our first year with Jake is behind us. He is 6 months old and growing like a little weed. He now weighs 15 lbs 3 oz and he is 25" long. He's eating veggies and absolutely loves them... well most of them. So far he's enjoying carrots, butternut squash and sweet potatoes but both green beans and peas produced gagging and some hilarious faces. Next we'll get started introducing all the yummy fruits.

I like to throw my legs up in the air now and Mama thinks it's so cute.

We hope everyone enjoyed the new pictures in yesterday's post. As promised here are a couple of short videos of Jake giggling when his shirt gets pulled off and of him rolling over. We'll post again next weekend to let you know what he weighs now so until then....

Our little man is rolling over! He started last Saturday morning and we were lucky enough to capture his very first time on video. We were hoping to post it but we haven't had time to master the video editing software yet. He is so proud of himself every time he rolls and he now seems to think its his job because he immediately rolls over as soon as we put him down ... anywhere... anytime. We've also discovered that Jake is ticklish and he giggles his little head off everyday when we take off his shirt. It is the most precious thing! He's now eating oatmeal. He seems to like it better than the rice cereal. His 6 month pediatrician's appointment is coming up this week (about one week before his actually 6 month birthday) after which we will start him on some veggies. Feeding him is fun and one of Mama's special times with Jake. Daddy is in charge of bath time and has recently discovered that he needs to wear a wet suit while bathing Jake. As you might be guessing.... Jake has discovered the sheer joy of splashing and he does it with reckless enthusiasm every night. That's all for now but we'll try to record some short video to share and post it within the next couple of days.

Quick post of a few new pictures of Jake. These are primarily for Grandma since she's so far away. We're hoping that when she retires to North Carolina she can just drop by the house and visit him often (hint.... hint....).

We think Jake may be teething because he is drooling like crazy. Hope you all enjoy the pix.

Jake is 5 months old and he is a very happy baby. He has a great laugh and he smiles all the time now. He spent his first night away from Mama and Daddy last weekend. He stayed at Mamaw and Papaw's house while Trip and I went to a couple of Tom Petty concerts. We had a nice weekend together but we missed Jake terribly. Mamaw and Papaw really enjoyed their time with Jake and they are already missing him.

I'm 5th Months Old!

This new bouncy seat is so cool!

Jake spent his first 4th of July at his Mamaw & Papaw's house in Spruce Pine. He also got to spend time with his Uncle Russell, Aunt Kristi and cousins... Gage, Katie and Abbie. We had a wonderful day together.

Jake decided to start reaching for things while we were hanging out with our family so we took a little video to share with everyone. Enjoy.
