Halloween Fun!

Jake was the cutest little Spiderman for Halloween and he had fun picking out and carving a pumpkin. Funny how much more fun Halloween was with a child. We can only imagine how much more special Thanksgiving and Christmas will be this year.

Jake has seen his first snow. It was just enough to cover the grass and the bushes but he was fascinated.

Jake has already been to the polls to vote with Mama & Daddy and he is looking forward to watching election night coverage to see if we voted for the winners.

Why is Mama eating all of my candy?
Do you think my web will get me up there?
Do you need me to catch any bad guys?
Don't forget to vote!
This is different but I think I like it!
This reading video is really interesting.
I'm still loving my jumpster!
Yipppeeee!  My first snow (well... dusting).

Mama and Daddy love me so much!
Daddy helped me carve my very first pumpkin.
This hood helps me stay warm outside.
Can you see my two teeth?
Wow, there are lots of pumpkins here!
This one is just my size.
I love my sweet potatoes!

Jake is 8 months old! We can't believe how quickly time is passing but we're enjoying every wonderful minute. Jake has one tooth now... on the bottom (that top one still hasn't popped out) and he has learned to drink water from a cup. We visited a park near our house where Jake tried out the slide and the swing and loved them both. Jake visited Uncle Paul (Trip's twin) in the hospital and made him smile. He also went to watch his cousin Gage play his championship football game. Gage won and ran in the winning touchdown!

We're sharing a couple of eight month birthday photos along with one of Jake's first time swinging and drinking from a big cup. We're also including a video of Daddy's goodnight kisses and a short video of Jake splashing. The splashing video ends a little abruptly because the battery in our camera died but it was still cute so we thought it would be fun to share it anyway.

Happy 8 Month Birthday to Me!!!
What should I do for my next pose?
Push me higher Daddy!!!

I'm such a big boy!

Jake has had a busy couple of weeks. He went with Daddy (and Mama) to Raleigh for Daddy's monthly staff meeting where he met all of Daddy's incredibly nice co-workers and his wonderful boss. He had his first (and hopefully last) ear infection. He started teething (first one is coming up top). He hung out with his family at the Serge (Trip's Mom) family picnic. He saw his Uncle Russell receive his black belt in karate. And he went to his first football game where he watched his cousin Gage lead his team to a victory. NOTE: Gage is in the 7th grade and now playing quarterback and WOW he really has an arm!

Jake also found shadows on the wall, learned to stick out his tongue, drink from a straw and started training for his first triathlon. Okay... just kidding about that last one but he really did do the other things :)
Having fun with Grandma.
Grandma makes a nice pillow.
One side of my family (I'm the short one on the left).
Eating Cheerios for the very first time.
Jumping... jumping... jumping.... jumping!
Look out Michael Jordan!  I can jump and stick out my tongue at the same time.
Congrats on the black belt Uncle Russell!
My toes taste so good!
Shopping with Mama wore me and my monkey out!

Jake is 7 months old today and an absolute joy! His new favorite thing to do is jump. He squeals with delight when he is in either is jumperoo or his doorway jumpster. It is so adorable that we had to share it so below the new pictures there is a new video (WARNING - You may want to turn down the volume before you hit play because he can squeal pretty loud). He is also in love with our cat, Circles and has recently started reaching out to touch him anytime he gets close. He smiles all over himself when he actually succeeds. Earlier this month, Jake helped celebrate his Daddy's birthday in Spruce Pine and he also had his very first ride in Daddy's big truck.

I'm 7 Months Old!
I'm standing up all by myself!
Sweet baby boy...
Can we go find Circles now?
Is it time to get up?
Happy Birthday Daddy!
I love my carrots and my Mamaw.

I think Papaw is going to tickle my foot.

Wow... Daddy's big truck rides real nice!

Grandma knitted Jake a cap last winter and Daddy got one too. Jake's cap finally fits him so now all we need is snow.

Think snow!
Daddy and I match!

Just a quick post tonight. I promised Jake's Grandma that I would upload some video of him eating in his high chair a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately, the video was way to large to upload and I still haven't mastered our editing software nor have I purchased any that might be easier to use. So when we tried peas again tonight we thought we would make a quick video to post. Last week peas were met with really funny faces and some serious gagging before he clamped his mouth shut and refused them all together. Tonight Jake ate them like a big boy. We are so proud! His new favorite food is applesauce so he got some of that for dessert since he did so well with his peas.
We'll post on the 14th or soon thereafter as we'll have Jake's 7 month b-day picture to show off.

We can hardly believe that half of our first year with Jake is behind us. He is 6 months old and growing like a little weed. He now weighs 15 lbs 3 oz and he is 25" long. He's eating veggies and absolutely loves them... well most of them. So far he's enjoying carrots, butternut squash and sweet potatoes but both green beans and peas produced gagging and some hilarious faces. Next we'll get started introducing all the yummy fruits.

I like to throw my legs up in the air now and Mama thinks it's so cute.
I love it when Daddy sings to me!
I'm trying to look cool for my birthday picture.
I love hanging out with Papaw.
Mamaw loves me so much!  She kisses me all the time.
Napping with my Daddy after a busy day.
Playing with my toes is my new favorite thing to do.
Daddy is already teaching me to cook.

We hope everyone enjoyed the new pictures in yesterday's post. As promised here are a couple of short videos of Jake giggling when his shirt gets pulled off and of him rolling over. We'll post again next weekend to let you know what he weighs now so until then....
